Mid-Autumn on the Shop Floor: Pears, Nuts and the Team Behind the Nozzles

The day before our Mid-Autumn break, the workshop floor becomes a distribution wall — autumn moon pears, nut boxes, grapes, cookies — and then the group photo. What that says about a nozzle supplier, plus the 2026 holiday dates that will touch your order.

On 24 September 2026 — the last working day before our Mid-Autumn break — the production floor at HenSing looked different from the rest of the year. The perforated partition panels that normally screen off the assembly area were stood up in a row as a backdrop, and in front of them, on cardboard laid over the green epoxy, sat the welfare order: autumn moon pears, nut gift boxes, crates of green grapes, Danish butter cookies, orange pastry boxes, cartons of yogurt drink.

It is a small, ordinary thing. We are posting it here because the questions we get from buyers are rarely only about orifice diameter.

What a Mid-Autumn welfare package is

中秋节, the Mid-Autumn Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month — in 2026 that is Friday 25 September. It is the second great family holiday of the Chinese calendar, the one tied to the fullest moon and to travelling home. Running alongside it is a quieter custom: 福利 (welfare), the goods an employer buys so that staff leave the gate with something in their hands before a holiday. In a factory that usually means boxes heavy enough to require two trips to the car.

Mid-Autumn welfare gifts lined up along the HenSing production floor: autumn moon pear cartons, red nut gift boxes, green grapes in crates, Danisa butter cookies, orange pastry boxes and yogurt drink cartons
The distribution wall before the floor opened: 秋月梨 autumn moon pears, 百草味 mixed-nut sets, sleeved green grapes, Danisa butter cookies, 锦绣鎏金酥 pastry boxes and 莫斯利安 yogurt drink.

What went into the boxes this year, and why each of them:

  • 秋月梨 (autumn moon pears) — the big golden winter pear, in season right now and the default gift here in Deqing. One rule comes with them: a pear is never cut in half to share, because 梨 sounds like 离, "to part". Whole fruit, gifted whole.
  • Green table grapes, every cluster still in its paper sleeve, stacked in the same plastic crates we use for machined parts.
  • Mixed nut gift boxes — the shelf-stable option, for whoever has a longer drive home than planned.
  • Danish butter cookies and an orange pastry box, the mooncake-adjacent end of the table.
  • Cartons of yogurt drink, the item every Chinese household reliably receives and reliably finishes within a week.

The value is not the point. The point is that the boxes get carried out of the workshop by the people who work in it, on the afternoon before three days off.

The group photo

Almost everyone in the frame wears the same black polo with the blue HSZN nozzle mark on the chest. That is what a nozzle workshop actually is: machining, assembly, inspection, the test bench, packing, and the handful of people who keep orders alive across a nine-hour time difference — not many heads, and every station held by someone whose name the others know.

We mention it because a high-pressure nozzle is a machined part long before it is a datasheet. The tolerance on the orifice, the deburr inside the water passage, the angle each jet leaves the body at, and the signature on the spray-test sheet all belong to specific people standing in that photograph. Team continuity is the least-discussed variable in a supplier decision and one of the few that actually holds.

The holiday calendar, since it will touch your PO

China's 2026 autumn holidays sit close together, with only three working days in between:

DatesWhat it isPlanning note
25–27 Sep 2026Mid-Autumn Festival — 3 days, no make-up workdayMost factories pause; domestic freight slows.
28–30 Sep 2026Three working daysOften the tightest shipping window of the quarter.
1–7 Oct 2026National Day Golden WeekMake-up workdays fall on 20 Sep and 10 Oct.

Two consequences for anyone sourcing from China this quarter. Book production slots before late September rather than after it, and ask each supplier for their written holiday dates instead of assuming the public calendar matches what happens on the shop floor. If an order is in play with us, ask for ours before the end of the month.

Why publish a photo of a box of pears

Because the rest of this site describes what we make, and this one describes who makes it. There is a phrase for this season — 月圆人团圆, "the moon is round and people are together" — which is a fair thing to want from a supplier too: a workshop you can see whole, not only a catalogue.

Come and see it in person if you are in Zhejiang — we are in the Deqing economic development zone, and contact us to arrange a visit. The company page carries the certificates and factory profile, and the blog has the nozzle engineering.
